  • Canceling Render Takes Forever`

Since I have loaded Vray 2.0 on Max 2011, it seems like canceling my renders in the middle is taking an extremely long time. I often render low quality region renders on my local computer. Once I see what I needed I just cancel it, but recently the render has just kept on going. Sometimes it will not cancel until the rendering actually finishes all the way. Sometimes the button appears clicked, but the rendering keeps going for several minutes afterward. It also seems like overall these renderings are using more of my computers resources than before. I am unable to use explorer, internet, or anything else while they are going without significant slow down. This didn't happen before.

Just wondering if anyone is experiencing similar problems.

I am using windows xp 64-bit, dual quad-core processors, 8 gb ram.

UPDATE It seems like having vray RT disabled makes a difference on this matter. Perhaps this is happening because RT is sucking up some of my resources. Anyone know anything about this? Should RT be turned off to do small region renders?

i dont know if vray has some special sauce to stop RT thinking while its big brother is making an image, but otherwise its like you are trying to do two renders at once. no wonder things are a bit slow...

Yep, this was supposed to be fixed, but apparently is still an issue. For now it would be best to close the ActiveShade before rendering - hopefully this will be fixed for the next update.

      Best regards,
      Vlado
